"So you want change in America?" I have been hearing a lot from disgruntled Americans saying that they want to see a major change in our government.
Let's start that change this year by making it a year of not reelecting those that currently serve in office. Yes, you heard me right. A large majority of them have been doing little for the 99% of of us and much for that 1%, so let's take a stand this year and boot them out of office. Over the next six years we can change nearly all those in elected office and I am pretty sure the new guy or gal in office will get the jist of what we the American people want. Quit talking about change Americans, and make a change this November. Give the new guy or gal a chance to represent the 99% of us this November. Who knows maybe those not up for reelection yet might get the message too and get off their fat butt and do something for a change that will better our country.
I agree that we should kick out the incumbents and put some fresh blood in office. We just have to be careful though. As the Tea Party has shown us, there are politicians who smell the smoke and jump into any opportunity that will get them what they want. Unfortunately, many races often have a fallen member of high office trying to unseat the current member who probably unseated them. Or worse, a previous member who left their office to take a political position in the administration are now trying to get their old job back. We will need real people who have never held federal office before. Candidates who will owe no favors across the national scale. I would prefer those who would owe nothing at their state level, but I am not THAT naive. The biggest changes that I would love to see are all the power plays for those lucrative committees that allow our congressmen or women to make significant changes to our current predicament. Oh what fun that would be and it is also the biggest obstacle to kicking out the old regime. To protect their status, they would resort to any method that ensures their victory and that is what worries me the most. I just hope that we Americans can see through the glitz and mud-slinging and put a real person in office.
